We were referred to Bryan and Cascadia Canine Training School by our vet. We adopted a lab/pit puppy and although he gets a lot of love and attention from his people, his dog brother (11 years old) wants nothing to do with him. The Dog Day School has been a great way of socializing the pup with other dogs. He comes home exhausted from a day of play and basic skills like crate training.

Our four year old german shepherd was very dominant towards other dogs due, mostly, to some bad experiences at the dog park. With Bryan's training, (for us and her), we can hike and she can be around other dogs again. He also taught us how to get her used to horses, goats, cats etc. She is now in Cascadia Canine doggie day care and doing great. Bryan is an excellent trainer that we highly recommend.

Wow. Just, wow. Bryan and the Cascadia Canine Training team absolutely changed our lives! My partner and I have a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd (our sweet Auckie boy!) who we rescued when he was 11 months old. He was terribly anxious around people (especially men) and would pull, bark and growl very aggressive and looked like he was ready to attack. It brought us a lot of stress inside and outside of the home, and was very scary for any stranger that ever approached him.
I watched video after video, read article after article, and talked to numerous people about how to break Auckie of this habit. No matter what I tried, nothing worked. My partner and I talked about training multiple times, but were slightly skeptical because we knew we needed much more than a trainer to simply teach Auckie to sit, lay, and stay. That's when I discovered Cascadia Canine Training School.
Yesterday, we went in for our introductory lesson. As expected, Auckie was barking and growling uncontrollably the second we walked through the door. Bryan explained to us during our lesson that Auckie was behaving this way because he KNEW he could. Auckie was running the show and he needed to be corrected to know that he's not the one in control -- we are. Bryan showed us how to calmly, patiently, and respectfully gain back control, and after ONE LESSON, Auckie was a brand new dog. That same evening, we walked past people walking, running, skateboarding, biking, and Auckie only calmly watched them pass by without a growl or a bark. We still can't believe it!!
We are so thankful for Bryan and the Cascadia Canine Training team. If you have questions or are on the fence about signing up for lessons, I recommend giving them a call. They do a great job at explaining their philosophy and they truly want the best for dogs and their owners. We loved watching Bryan with his own dog while at the lesson. They have such a beautiful relationship filled with love, trust and respect, and it's incredible that Bryan is so passionate about helping owners build that same bond with their own pups.

Bryan and the Cascadia Canine Training School are absolutely fantastic and I can't recommend him highly enough! Bryan came highly recommended to me by 5 friends who were previous clients.
I have a large mastiff puppy, Walter, who is my 2nd dog but first puppy. Before we started working with Bryan, I needed both hands and all of my strength to walk my giant puppy. After 1 week working with Bryan, I could walk my puppy with just 2 fingers! I was a little hesitant about using a prong collar at first but Bryan's love of dogs and support were super helpful and the results really paid off! Walter was very sensitive to the collar at first but doesn't mind wearing it at all anymore.
After 6 sessions with Bryan, the training results were great and Walter now gets frequent compliments on his good behavior. Some of the training commands were unfamiliar to me as a previous dog owner but now I can't imagine a day without using the "wait" command for passing through doors, crossing streets, getting out of the truck, or anytime I would like Walter to wait before barging ahead.
Bryan's commitment to dogs and training show with his lifetime support when enrolling in his training program. After each training session, I would often have questions when practicing and Bryan was prompt and extremely helpful in his replies. I'm sure I will have questions as Walter grows older and we gain new experiences together. I feel a lot better knowing that I can always contact Bryan when any training or behavior questions arise.

I can't say enough about Bryan Castleberry and Cascadia Canine Training School. We took our dog to a couple "doggie classes" prior to being referred to Bryan but didn't get much out of them. Having a German Shepherd we knew we had to have a well trained dog. Bryan's knowledge of dogs of all breeds is absolutely amazing. His training techniques were so effective with us and our dog and in such a short period of time. Bryan's calm but strict and precise manner made it so easy. Don't waste your time or money going to anyone else.

Bryan has been a god send for my house. My rescue boy Quill was good with the basics, but had issues loose leash walking, barking and showed signs of aggression with other dogs and resource guarding at home. Quill is now the most well trained dog I have ever owned. My house is quiet and I have a loving companion. Bryan is Bend’s best dog trainer around. He’s kind, yet strict, makes everything very easy to follow and has a calm about him that the dogs really pick up on. He will be the only trainer I ever use for any dog I own!

In March of 2020, My wife and I welcomed a lovely 70lb 1 year old Samoyed named Leroy into our lives. We liked to describe him as 80% great dog and 20% needs improvement. His specific issues were excessive pulling on leash and a heavy prey drive i.e. (he would lose control around cats, birds, and squirrels) with excessive barking and pulling.
We explored several options in Bend ranging from 3 week sleep away training programs to positive only trainers who refused to teach the word “no”. After a long search, we came across Bryan Castleberry and Cascadia K9. We could not give Bryan a more glowing endorsement if we tried. He helped Leroy become a better dog and us become better owners.
Bryan is the definition of a professional who truly knows not only how to communicate with your dog, but how to teach you to be the best leader possible. His “pay as you go approach” class structure was incredibly flexible and the benefits of each session were immediate. He’s taught us loose leash walking, door manners, healing, sit stays, down stays, and so many other amazing tools to have a well behaved pup. Leroy really loves him as well.
If you have a good dog and you are looking for guidance on ways to make them great, look no further than Bryan. He is a tremendous trainer that I would recommend to anyone. After 6 classes and graduation from “Obedience School”, we are now going back for four more classes to learn how to master off leash work with an e collar (the right way).

Our experience with Brian was life changing. We came to him with our out of control lab mix, who I was seriously regretting ever adopting, and left with absolute adoration. This dog, I now enjoy more than my kids most days😂. We still use his techniques daily, and will for the rest of our lives. Brian was kind
and loving with our Gracie, and was SUPER patient with me and my million questions and worries. We completed our training over a year ago, and I have since recommended Brian to every dog owner I know, lol. Thanks so much!

We thought we were adopting a “great family dog” (the bird dog breeder’s description of the litter) with our female Labrador retriever. At three months, she was out of control, creating chaos in our house and yard. The breeder abandoned us when we asked for help/advice. That is when we went to the Cascadia K9 Training School. Bryan and Emily are two of the nicest people you will ever meet, and Bryan is an absolute wizard with dogs. At six months, our dog just graduated from their three-week obedience course, and will soon start their three-week e-collar training session. Bryan and Emily have started our dog well on her way of being a confident, obedient, and lovable dog. To us, it is nothing short of a miracle.

We recently enrolled our one-year-old Mini Bull Terrier in a three-week training class at Cascadia Canine Training School. After the first private lesson (designed to evaluate our dog’s personality and behavioral patterns) with Bryan, we noticed an instantaneous, positive change in our dog’s behavior. He showed us how to comprehensively—in a calm and
respectful manner—gain control of our dog.
The training class followed the private lesson. Our Mini Bull Terrier, over a three-week span, always looked forward to going to school and she effectively learned a wide range of commands. Simply, she’s a “new dog!”
Our dog is no longer out of control in our home and she follows our lead during long walks in our neighborhood and on area-wide trails.
In summary, we highly recommend Bryan and the Cascadia Canine Training School team. He has given us a “quiver” of training techniques that have allowed us to interact with our dog in a directed and supportive manner.
